Sollie Thomas, age 73, a native of Tylertown and a long-time resident of Bogalusa, died Monday, Oct. 1 in LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church of Bogalusa.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maveline Cotton Thomas of Bogalusa; two sisters, Marjorie Sorrell of Avondale, La. and Evie Jean Stogner of Bogalusa; a special brother-in-law, Michael (Lettie) Cotton of Bogalusa; a special niece, Angela (Jason) Vincent of Bogalusa; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Thomas; and his parents, Jimmy and Flossie Thomas.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Oct. 3 from 1 to 11 p.m. at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home, and continued Thursday, Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Larry Lassley officiated, with interment following in Ponemah Cemetery.
