Funeral arrangements have been completed for Melissa Christine Flowers Thomas, age 43, who died Monday, April 25 in Lakeview Regional Medical Center. A native of Tangipahoa Parish, she had lived most of her life there and recently moved to Washington Parish.

She is survived by a daughter, Chrystal McIntyre and her husband, Shain Miley of Franklinton; two sisters, Charlotte Portier and Cindy Dugas, both of Tickfaw; two brothers, David "Scotty" Kinchen of Yickfaw and Vernon Lloyd Bassemier of Alabama; five grandchildren, Robbie McIntyre, Georgia McIntyre, Shain, Justin and Cyntia Miley, all of Thomas. She is also survived by a special friend, Peggy Durkes of Ponchatoula and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Henry Wainwright andVera Mildred Rogers; her adoptive parents, Charlie Flowers and Johnnie Peters Flowers.

Visitation will be tomorrow from 5 to 10 p.m. at Brown-McGenee Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at noon Saturday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery in rural Washington Parish.
