September 20, 1928 - April 30, 2011
Alton Vernon Thomas 82, passed away Saturday at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. a resident of Franklinton and long time dairyman and member of Trinity Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria Mae Brumfield Thomas of Franklinton; one daughter, Jo Ann Maples of Mt. Herman; grandaughter , Kristi Jenkins of Franklinton; three great-grandchildren Stephen Williams, Jacee Jenkins and Kalob Jenkins; sister, Wilda Corbin od Channelview, Texas; brother Earl Thomas and wife Glenda of Tylertown, Miss.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Limmie and Edna Branch Thomas; Sisters Hazel Moore, Wessie Brown, Evelyn Thomas,Lois Gardner, Lovie Dillon and brothers, Carlos and Clyde.
Visitation was May 2,2011 at Crain Funeral Home, burial at Springhill-Magee Cemetery with Rev. Stanley Statham, Rev Melvin Larson and Rev Jeremy Imgram officiating.
Pallbearers were Daryl Dillon, Mickey McDaniel, Charles Brumfield, Byron Brumfield, Johnny Brumfield and Dale Williams.
