Helen Seal Thomas, age 79, a resident of the Lawrence Creek community, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in St. Tammany Parish Hospital, Covington.
She was a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a retired seamstress with Haspel Manufacturing in Tylertown.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Joyce and Gill Sorrell and Jo Ann and Bud Hightower, all of Franklinton; two granddaughters and their spouses: Lisa and Jody McNeese and Bubba and Cindy Taylor, three grandsons, Chad, Brad and Brandon Hightower, two great-grandchildren, Melissa and B. J. McNeese, all of Franklinton; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda Brumley of Baton Rouge, Kathleen and Mike Fasola of Bogalusa, Doris and Glen Reid of Amite and Shirley and Russell LeBlanc of Walker; a brother- in- law, Leroy Nielson of Thomas; two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Seal and Ruth Kennedy, both of State Line; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Ray and Lois Thomas of Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.V. "Dub" Thomas; her parents Charlie and Nellie Seal; two brothers, Olen and Clayton Seal; and a sister Lois Nielson.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 6 to 10 p.m. today , continuing tomorrow after 9 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Elds. Lerand Hunt, Don Jacobs and Lavon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Chad, Brad and Brandon Hightower, B.J. McNeese, Bubba Taylor and Jody McNeese. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Knight, Wayne Nobles,
Ronnie Berthelot, Charles Fasola, Glen Gabriel Reid and David Seal.
