SAMUEL RONALD "RONNIE" THOMAS, Age 61 and a resident of Franklinton died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
He was born November 23, 1947 in Tylertown, MS and graduated Tylertown High School in 1965. He received a welding certificate from Southwest Mississippi Community College. He was a seaman in the merchant marines for five years and worked at Southeastern Hospital in Mandeville, LA as an aide.
Survived by: Son: Ron Thomas of Franklinton; Daughter and son in law: Tina and Greg McClendon of Sandy Hook; Parents: Jewell and Frances Thomas of Tylertown; Grandson: Jacob McClendon; Brother and sister in law: Teddy and Jo Ann Thomas ; Sister: Marion Stroud of Tylertown; Four Nieces: Denise McCullough of Memphis, TN; Fran Conway of Kenner, LA; Crystal and Virginia Thomas of Tylertown; Nephew: Sam Thomas of Tylertown
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home after 9 AM Thursday, January 22, 2009 with the funeral service to be held at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery. Pallbearers: Sam Thomas, Dudley Wood, Randy Thomas, Jeff Blackwell, Lamar Craft, Larry Magee and Elwin Dillon.
