L. C. Thomas, 81, a resident of the Sheridan community, died at 7:10 pm Tuesday, Dec. 15th at his residence.

He was a retired employee with Gaylord Container and a member of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Floreda Jenkins Thomas of Sheridan; a son, Benjamin Louis Thomas of Franklinton; a daughter, Betty Louise Hartfield of Bogalusa; a
brother, Leon Thomas of Bogalusa; six sisters, Cora McCain, Zellie Mizell, Mamie McDonald and Geneva Knight all of Franklinton, Gladys Merse of Baker and Dora Gardner of Foxworth; four grandchildren, Acy Hartfield, Jr., Angela Thomas Rachal, Chad Thomas, and Patsy Welch; also four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lela Hunt, Edna Moore, Evie Sanchez, and Zephyr Sheridan.

Visitation was in the Crain Funeral Home from 5 pm until 9 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Thursday, Dec. 17th in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Brent King.

Interment was in the Mt. Sinai Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Garner, Gary Garner, Laverne Jenkins, Donald Mizell, Acy Hartfield Sr., and McCauley Sheridan.
