Husband of Marsha Barber
Son of Jesse Merle and Mary Joe Thomas Knight
John Wayne Knight, age 54, a long time resident of Franklinton, died at 5:59 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at his residence. He was a painter by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha Barber Knight of Franklinton; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois Hamilton and Jim of Livingston, Terisa and Frank Sumrall of Montrose, Colo. and Shirley and Danny Brooks of Thomas; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Cheryl Knight of Walker, La., David Knight of Covington, Rickey and Kim Knight and Jessie Knight Jr., all of Thomas; and a number of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Merle and Mary Thomas Knight and a sister "Little" Mary Knight.
Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 6 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, and continued after 9 a.m. Thursday, March 15 until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Jerry Cox and Rev. Aaron Cox officiated with burial following in the Thomas Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his nephews: Todd Knight, Toby Knight, Justin Sumrall, Jonathan Knight, Daniel Knight and Derrick Knight.
