Son of James Calvin and Hittie Olivia Erwin Knight
Jake Knight, age 12 of the Thomas community, died Sunday at his home of an unusual accident. He was playing & placed some carbide in a bottle with water. The contents exploded & a glass fragment cut the internal juglar vein in his neck. The youth was brought to the local
hospital where surgery & blood transfusions were performed but he sank deeper into shock and died about 40 minutes after arrival. Survivors: the father J. C. Knight, 8 bros, 2 sisters & 1 half-sister. Funeral was held Monday at the Thomas Cemetery Brown Funeral Home in charge.
