A native and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana he died at 2:15 pm Friday, September 17, 2004, at his home. He was 41 and a truck driver. Survived by his wife Kim Bueche Bateman of Baton Rouge; son, Michael Paul Bateman of Franklinton, Louisiana; stepson, Brandon Wilson of Baton Rouge; parents David L and Virginia Bateman of Franklinton ; sister, Patricia Wynne of Covington,Louisiana; and brother-in-law, Frank Wynne of Covington. He attended Foster Road Baptist Church.
Survived by Daughters and Son in law Louell B and Jim Phenald of Clinton,Louisiana; Deana L Bateman of Prairieville, Louisiana; Son and Daughter in law Doyle K “Butch” and Jane Bateman of Baton Rouge;Grandchildren Kristen Laine Bateman, Katie Bateman Haffner, Casey Randall Phenald, Jennifer Lanae’ Phenald, Sarah Elizabeth Phenald, Hannah Catherine Chidester, Dani Gaspard, Aundraya Keller; Sister Ada Mae Rockford of Walker, Louisiana.Also numerous nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife Evagene “Gene” Keefe Bateman, his parents Doyle Leon Bateman and Thelma Simmons Bateman and brothers Robert Dewitt Bateman and William Thomas Bateman.
Pallbearers were deacons of Enon Baptist Church along with honorary pallbearers Gary Rockford, Pat Rockford, Jimmie Simmons, Casey Phenald, Robert Mitchell and the Men’s Sunday School class of Enon Baptist Church.

October 17, 1935 - July 27, 2004

A native of Nashville, Georgia and a resident of Franklinton,Louisiana she died at age 68. She was a loving wife, mother, maw maw, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church and founder of Bateman Poet Society. Survived by her husband of 50 years, Doyle W Bateman of Franklinton; daughters and son-in-law, Louell B and Jim Phenald of Pride, Louisiana, and Deana B Chidester of Prairieville, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Jane Bateman of Baton Rouge, Louiaiana; grandchildren Kristen Laine Bateman, Katie Jane Bateman, Casey Randall and wife Kaci, Jennifer Lanae and Sarah Elizabeth Phenald, Hannah Catherine Chidester and Dani and Andi Chidester; a great-grandchild, Chase Randall Phenald; a brother and sister-in-law, Elmer Clyde and Virginia Keeffe of Nashville; two sisters, Lottie Grey Gaskins and Elnita Lynn, both of Nashville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Georgiann Keefe; and a nephew, Lewis Gaskins.
