Dewitt L. Bateman died Tuesday, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Bateman. He was born and reared in Franklinton and married twice, first to Ada Jones and had Mrs. P.N. Givens,
Mrs. John Corkern, Mrs. Elbert Hennesy, Miss Bessie Bateman, Doyle, Mouton, and David Bateman; second marriage to Nettie Bahm. Mr. Bateman was born 1-29-1880, and died 5-3-1932, being 52 years, 3 months, and 4 days of age. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery.

Ada M. Jones Bateman, born 7-21-1882, died in New Orleans on 8-11-1915. She was the daughter of David and Lillie Jones. She married in 1900 to D.L. Bateman and had 7 children. Burial was in the Ellis Cemetery.
