Helen Alfreda Johanna Bateman, 87, of the 1800 block of Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, passed away Sat. Feb 3 in Chesapeake. A native of Bremerhaven, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Karl P. & Gertrud M. Moeller; widow of Samuel F. Bateman. She is survived by two daughters, Heike Margaret Meyer (Frank) of Chesapeake & Miriam Juno of New Orleans, LA; 4 grandchildren, Mark Briley (Samatha) of Malton, NJ, Matthew Briley (Candi) of Norfolk, Nicole & Ashley Juno, both of New Orleans, LA; two great grandchildren, Tabatha Briley & Austin Briley; a sister, Margaret Gronemeier (Fritz) of Germany; a niece, Petra Kalla; a nephew, Bernd Gronemeier; & three dear friends, Chuck Dunn, Sammy & Wayne Briley. Burial Mon, Feb 12th in Ellis Cemetery, Franklinton, La.
