Bateman, William Thomas 'Will' 'Motor Mouth'
A retired employee of Ethyl Corp. and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 1:55 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs. He was 73 and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held at Springhill -Magee Cemetery in Franklinton on Monday at 3 p.m. He is survived by a special friend and caretaker, Mary Alice White; sister and brother-in-law, Ada B. and J.D. Rockford, of Walker; brother, Doyle W. "D.W." "Dub" Bateman, of Franklinton ; sister-in-law, Iris Rushing Bateman, of Baton Rouge; nieces, Donna R. Griffith and husband Don, Louell Bateman Phenald and husband Jim, Deana Bateman Chidester, and Robbie Bateman Richard and husband David; nephews, Patrick Rockford, Gary Rockford and Doyle K. "Butch" Bateman and wife Jane; nine great-nieces, four great-nephews, two great-great-nieces and a great-great-nephew. He was a former member of Istrouma Baptist Church and a charter member of Fairfields Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Golden Age Nursing Home in Denham Springs, Life Source Hospice in Baton Rouge and Ochsner Medical Center-Baton Rouge. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
