James Nelson Simmons died June 6th at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 8 days. Survivors are his wife, O. Eugene of New Orleans, J.O. and C.C. of Franklinton, A.M. and L.J. of Bogalusa, R.E. and Loyd of Birmingham, Mesdames, S.L. Smith, W.A. Erwin, J.E. Strudivant, and Mrs. Frank E. Payne of Bogalusa, 1 brother, Monroe Simmons, 1 sister, Mrs. Ophelia Morris of Kentwood. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery.
