Wife of Percy Simmons
DOROTHY D. SIMMONS, AGE 88
And a resident of Franklinton died at 8:11 AM Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center.
She was a retired registered nurse with the Washington Parish Health Unit and also worked at McGehee Clinic. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Women's Club.
Survived by:
Son and daughter in law: Leonard Reid and Eleanor Simmons of Mt. Hermon
Daughter: Jane S. Brodie of Franklinton
Daughter in law: Barbara Simmons of Parkridge, IL
2 Grandsons: Brandon Simmons and Conner Simmons of Parkridge, IL
Brother: Robert Detrie of Green Bay, WI
She was preceded in death by her husband Percy Simmons, her son James Percy Simmons, her parents Leonard and Stella Qunette Detrie, and a brother Bernard Detrie.
Visitation will begin after 9:30 AM Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM with Father Peter Hammett officiating.
Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.
