W. Monroe Simmons died at 82 years of age on November 10th. He was born in Miss., but later moved near Mt. Hermon. He married twice, first to Mrs. Eliza Jane Smith and had 4 children, He married second to Candace Brumfield, who died in March. They had 9 children, 6 living. Survivors are Mrs. Milton Brumfield of Bogalusa, Mrs Della Branch, Jess W. of Franklinton, W.F., Monroe, and Thurman N. of Bogalusa, and B.P. Simmons of New Orleans. Interment was in the Ellis cemetery.
