Willis Fleet married Verne Walker birth 1889 the daughter of Desmus and Fannie Applewhite Walker Marion County Mississippi Granddaughter of John and Luvenia Applewood. John Applewhite with others from North Carolina with their families embarked in flatboats on the Cumberland River, floated downto Natchez and moved across to Pearl River and settled."History of Pike County Mississippi 1798-1876 " by Luke Ward Conerly page 12
