Mausoleum
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Helen Hebert Guidry, 97, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at her residence in Lafayette surrounded by her family.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Giftbearers will be Megan, Madelyn and Mia DeJean. Gilbert Wiltz, organist and vocalist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "Ave Maria", "Jesus, The Center of My Joy", and "The 23rd Psalm".
Survivors include one daughter, Pam Doucet and her boyfriend, Rick Rogers of Lafayette; one granddaughter, Tracy DeJean and her boyfriend, Lance Veillon of Lafayette; and three great grandchildren, Megan, Madelyn and Mia DeJean.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robley Guidry; her brothers, Mac Hebert, Russell Hebert, Lincoln Hebert and Jerome Hebert; her sisters, Beland Hernandez, Ruth Guidry, Nila Prejean and Alice Chestnut; and her parents, Henry and Lila Hebert.
A native of Cecilia, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 35 years, Mrs. Guidry was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs. Guidry will be dearly missed not only by family and friends, but by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout the years.
Pallbearers will be Charles Prejean, Lance Veillon, Murphy Narcisse, Randy Chestnut, Kendall Mosing and Rick Rogers.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of funeral services.
