Ulysse is survived by one daughter, Rachel Guidry Robin and her husband Donovan of Scott; one son, Kenneth “Boots” Guidry of Scott; two sisters, Shirley Boss of Carencro, and Audrey Smith of Youngsville; seven grandchildren, Bryce Aldrich, Taylor “T.J.” Hebert, Ray Wilson, Jason Wilson, Melinda Sloane, Timothy Vincent, and Stefani Guidry; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon Aldrich, Briley Aldrich, Lettie Sloane, Gloriana Sloane, and Peighton Claire Benoit.

A native of Lafayette Parish, Ulysse has been a resident of Scott since 1980, and was employed by Lafayette Woodworks, Inc. for 32 years.

In his free time, he was a very talented woodworker and cabinet maker. He loved listening, and dancing to Cajun music, and enjoyed playing the accordion and drums. He was extremely proud to help with, and support his daughter Rachel and her band, Cajun Express, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to his son, Kenneth, who was his “around the clock” caregiver in his last days. They would also like to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially his nurses, Karen Nelson, Michelle Simpson, and Dona Sonnier, for the compassionate and loving care. You ladies are truly angels on Earth.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Aldrich, Taylor “T.J.” Hebert, Mark Prejean, Jason Richard, Donovan Robin, and Jason Wilson. Honorary pallbearer is Kenneth “Boots” Guidry.
