LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Lovella V. Elaire Dugas, 78, who died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at her residence in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Services will be conducted by Fr. Thomas James, Pastor. Music will be provided by Gilbert Wiltz, Emmette Wiltz, and Charisma B. Nairn.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Lovella was a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School. She was employed by Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Threads, Inc., and Lafayette Parish School Board where she later retired. After retirement she worked at home as a pie maker. That's when she became known as "The Pie Lady".

She was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Peoples Choir for over 10 years. She loved reading her Bible and knew Jesus as her personal Savior. She was also an avid fan of the Northside High football team.

Lovella is survived by her loving children: Alsiefaye E. Boudreaux, Gilbert J. (Laura) Elaire Jr., and Amanda Clay; grandchildren: Raynard J.(Tyra) Boudreaux Jr., Candice Elaire, Angel Elaire, Shannon Elaire, and Charisma B. (Chan) Nairn; brother, Linus Vallien; sisters: Ruth Jolivette, Bertha (Stanley) Duhon, and Dorita (L.J.) Augustine; godchild, Kenneth Duhon, and other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rena Zeno and William Vallier; husband, Richard Dugas; former husband, Gilbert Elaire, Sr.; brothers: Joseph Cuba Vallier, Sr., and Ernest Vallier; sister: Mary Zeno; nieces, Genevieve Zeno and Bertha Andrus, and nephews, Raymond Zeno, Nathaniel Jolivette and Stephen Augustine.

Special thanks to Dr. Milton Jolivette, Dr. Michael Cain, Hospice of Acadiana, and special friends, Patricia Duhon and Janice Sittig.

Pallbearers are Raynard J. Boudreaux, Jr., Raynard J. Boudreaux, Sr., Anthony Frank, Malcolm Frank, Donald Harold Vallier, and Cornelius Jolivette. Honorary Pallbearers: Gilbert Elaire, Jr., Linus Vallier, L.J. Augustine, Stanley Duhon, Lawrence Elaire, Aaron Augustine, Clyde Duhon, Ronald Duhon, Tellis Jolivette, Lance Landry, James Vallier, Henry Zeno, Donald Broussard, Javon Duhon, and Anthony "Lil Dopsie" Rubin.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Syrie Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Rosary and wake service will be Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will also resume Monday at 7:00 a.m. to time of the funeral service.
