Scott - Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott Louisiana, for Mary Anne C. Dugas, age 90, the former Mary Anne Comeaux, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Shann Comeaux and Ashley Broussard and the Giftbearers will be Louis and Elsie Dugas. Joni Roy Hamilton and Lisa Roy Sheppert, vocalists, will sing for the Funeral Mass "On Eagles' Wings", "Psalm 23", "Prayer of St. Francis", "In Remembrance" and "Amazing Grace" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Hamilton.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Allen Anthony Dugas of Scott; a brother, Vernal Comeaux and his wife, Joan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Julien Comeaux, a native of Carencro and the former, Lelia Lacy, who was a native of Scott; one brother, Larry Comeaux; and one niece, Millie C. Moreau.

Born on December 15, 1927, Mrs. Dugas was a native and lifelong resident of Scott, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Dugas was a Scott High School graduate and SLI graduate. She received a B.A. Degree from UL, formerly SLI and was an Elementary School Teacher in the Lafayette Parish Schools system for thirty three and a half years. Mrs. Dugas was a member of the Retired Teachers Association in Lafayette Parish, and for the State of Louisiana and also a member of the Teachers' Credit Union. She was a faithful parishioner at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, where she served as a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Ladies Altar Society and the Neighborhood Rosary Group. Mrs. Dugas enjoyed reading, needlework, potting plants and taking care of her flower beds, and traveling with her husband in the United States and abroad.

Pallbearers will be Louis Dugas, Jr., Al Dugas, Carl Sellers, Louis Dugas, Ben Comeaux and Dustin Moreau.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Vernal Comeaux and Mike Dugas.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Scott location on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of the services.

A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Glenn Faul.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Dugas' name may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, P.O. Box 610 Scott, LA. 70583.

The Dugas Family would like to express their appreciation to Tina Cormer for the care extended Mrs Dugas the past two years.
