MARLEY OTTO BARBER, Independence, LA ( The Era- Leader January 7, 1998)
Mr. Marley Otto Barber, 70 a resident of Independence died at 11:16 p.m. Sunday at North
Oaks Hospital in Hammond.
He is survived by three daughters, Lucille Easley of Loranger, Mattie Rowell of Bush, and
Beatrice Athey of Franklinton; one step-daughter, Dorthy Cooper of Franklinton; three brothers
J.W. Barber, Willis Barber, and Ilos Barber all of Franklinton; one sister, Evie Warren of
Franklinton and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Barber.
Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and
after 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial followed in Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.
