MILLER, SYLVIA CONE
A retired clerk for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington Parish and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. She was 87. Visitation at Crain Funeral Home chapel, Franklinton, from 10 a.m. Saturday until funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Kenneth Corkern, Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Lisa Corkern and James Corkern, both of Baton Rouge; a sister, Opal Passman, Gulfport, Miss.; and two nephews, Malcom Cone Jr., Ponchatoula, and Edward Thompson, Gulfport. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard Miller; her parents, Myles and Pearl Smith Cone; and a brother, Malcom Cone. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Franklinton and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
