February 9, 1933 - January 29, 2018
Jerry “JY” Jenkins passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the age of 84.
He was a native of Franklinton, LA and a resident of LaPlace, LA.
He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later retired from Entergy as an Operations Superintendent.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in LaPlace.
Beloved husband of Deborah Wilson Jenkins by second marriage and the late Ruby Thigpen Jenkins by first marriage.
Loving father of John Barry Jenkins, Terry Walter Jenkins (Cindy), Bradley Young Jenkins (Kellie) and Jaime Wilson Tennimon (Trey). Grandfather of Ellen Jenkins, Lisa Avery, Alecia Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins, Hannah Jenkins, Tess Jenkins Ha, Ashton Schumacher and Kenzie Tennimon.
Also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Son of the late Walter Durward “Slim” Jenkins and Lorena Sanders Jenkins.
Brother of Edgar Louis Jenkins (Mary), Sarah Williams (James) and the late Walter Durward “Dub” Jenkins, Jr. (Ann).
