Shelby Jenkins(Died April 11, 2002)FRANKLINTON — Shelby Jenkins, 42, a resident of Franklinton died yesterday morning at 11 a.m. at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans. He was a former employee of United Parcel Service and a member of Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of The Lawrence Creek Boys singing group.He is survived by his wife, Carol McElveen Jenkins; a son, Dustin Jenkins; a daughter, Shelly Jenkins; his father and step-mother, the Rev. Larry and Louise Jenkins; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David and Terry Jenkins and Charles Jenkins; his father and mother-in-law, Monroe and Willie Mae McElveen; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Donald Williams; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Todd and Jenny McElveen, all of Franklinton; nieces and nephews, Chance McElveen, Cody Williams, Tanda Polk, Andrew, April and Jeremy Jenkins.He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Sanders Jenkins.Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home today from 5-10 p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. Eld. Don Jacobs and the Rev. Harold Gaddy will officiate.Interment will follow in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.
