February 9, 1929 - March 11, 2000
Funeral service for Thomas Charles Creel, age 71, a resident of Franklinton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in the Crain Funeral Home chapel, the Rev. Thomas L. Graves officiating.
Burial will follow in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery, Crain Funeral Home directing.
Visitation at the Crain Funeral Home is after 9 a.m. Monday until time of the services.
Mr. Creel died March 11, 2000 at St. Tammany Regional Medical Center in Covington.
A retired supervisor with Florida Gas Corp. and a veteran of the United States Army with service during the Korean Conflict, Mr. Creel was a member of the Homer Magee Post of the American Legion and a member of Springhill
Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cicero L. and Bessie Welch Creel, and a sister, Melba Bankston.
Survivors include his wife, Verne Thigpen Creel, Franklinton; two daughter and a son-in-law, Sherri Thomassen and Janet and Danny Carter, all residents of Franklinton; one sister, Doris Morgan, Mandeville; a brother, the Rev. Leslie Creel, Shreveport; four grandchildren, Joseph Carter, Scott Thomassen, Jason Thomassen and Lane Thomassen, three great-grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Verne
November 14, 1931 - November 2, 2008
Verne Thigpen Creel, 76, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was a resident of Franklinton and a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Creel is survived by two daughters, Sherri (Larry) Miller of Mt. Hermon and Janet (Danny) Carter of Franklinton; four grandchildren: Scott (Tisha) Thomassen, Jason (Chanda) Thomassen, Lane Thomassen, and Joseph Carter; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Creel and a sister, Ruby Jenkins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Crain Funeral Home, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Tommy Morgan officiated. Burial followed in the Springhill Magee Cemetery.
