Marvin Luther Colvin, 86 of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born February 5, 1927, to Joesef and Lillian Williams Colvin in Dubach, LA.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he was a charter member of the Builders Class. Marvin was retired from Texas Eastern. Mr. Colvin was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Claire Colvin; son, Cliff Colvin; son-in-law, Harold D. Hendricks; five brothers, Glin, Archie, Joe, Calhoun, and Dan Colvin; and one sister, Nettie Colvin.
Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Colvin Hendricks of El Dorado; daughter-in-law, Taryn Colvin of El Dorado; four grandchildren, Ashley Hendricks Windham (Pearson) of Oxford, MS, April Hendricks Killcreas (Chad) of Denver, CO, Nicholas Paul Colvin and Natalie Claire Colvin both of El Dorado; three great grandchildren, Pearson, John Colvin, and Anna Carlisle Windham all of Oxford, MS; and three sisters, Sarah Overstreet, Mable Davis and Marie Carr.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at Young’s.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Rob Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
