Funeral services for Lillie V Colvin, age 92, of Dubach, LA will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach with Rev. Cory Bruce, Mr. Claude Cox and LaWanda Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery under direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston, LA.
Lillie V was born September 16, 1927 to Charlie Mann and Lillie Irene (Rena) Jones Mann and passed away January 16, 2020 in Magnolia, AR. Lillie V operated Colvin’s Service Station and Café with her husband, Bobby for 40 years. Several of their nieces and nephews enjoyed summer vacation working in the café and service station. Lillie V and Bobby enjoyed going hunting in west Texas with friends. They also enjoyed traveling with friends to Mexico, Hawaii and many points in between. Her true love was her grandchildren and they adored her. She was a lifelong Baptist and a member of First Baptist Church of Dubach. Lillie V was preceded in death by her parents; A. L. Cox, Jr. (father of her children); her husband of 61 years, Bobby Gene Colvin; her twin brother, Charlie C. Mann; brothers: Lavelle, Leamon, and Clyde and sister, Christine Albritton.
Lillie V is survived by her daughter, LaWanda Cox-Stewart of Magnolia, AR; son, Claude Cox (Beulah Mae) of Katy, TX; three grandchildren: Shelly Snider (Gene) of Magnolia, AR, Scott Greer (Lolie) of Hot Springs Village, AR and Jay Cox (Rebecca) of Sugar Land, TX; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roye Albritton, Loye Albritton, Loyd Colvin, Gene Snider, Jerry Thurston and Ronnie Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Waltz and Terry Knowles.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time Monday at the church. The family would like to thank all of their caregivers over these last years.
