SHREVEPORT, LA - Glenmo Elsie "Glen" Davis, 86, was ushered into his eternal home by a Heavenly Host on September 30, 2010. His life will be celebrated on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Back and assisted by Frances Duron who will be standing in for Rev. Rodney Duron, Glen's friend and pastor for 42 years. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 2010 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Glen was born in Leesville, LA on January 19, 1924. He married the beautiful Hazel Shores in 1942 and immediately shipped out to the South Pacific where he served as a brave soldier in U.S. Army until 1945. Hazel prayed him safely home, and they moved to Shreveport where Glen served the city as a friend and barber for 65 years. He was greatly loved by people of all walks of life especially his last employer, Mr. Fant. Along with his barbering skills Glen was a talented musician, playing in the church band. He was also a master carpenter who built two lovely homes for his adored wife, Hazel. Glen was also a terrific gardener and often shared his crops with his customers and friends. Judge Tom Staggs delighted Glen with a framed picture of his beautiful vegetables.

Glen leaves a legacy of sterling character, devoted loving husband and doting father and grandfather. He is remembered by his current pastor, Denny Duron and church family as a faithful member, generous giver and loyal friend to everyone. "He leaves a vacancy in all of our hearts".

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Lula and Elsie Davis. He is survived by his precious wife of 68 years, Hazel; his cherished sons, Wayne Davis, Kenneth Alvin Davis, and Larry Davis; grandchildren, Amy, Callie, Kenneth Alvin, III, Shelly, Chris, Colton, Amanda and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Chris Jr. Trey, Kendi and Kyle.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Chris Whittaker, and Paul Navarre, Kenneth Alvin Davis, II, Nick Nevel and Max Fant.

The family would like to thank Chris and Karen Whittaker for their faithfulness as well as Dr. Andrew J. O'Young and the Hospice CNAs who attended Glen at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
