Fred H Davis of Ida, Louisiana passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday May 23, 2009 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bro Dale Alexander. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday the 22nd from 6"8 PM at the funeral home. Fred was born March 3, 1931 in Parkin, Arkansas. He lived in the Ida area for the past 30 years where he worked at and retired from the Missionary Plantation. Fred served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was known as being a very good man, what a man was supposed to be. He was the most honest man you'd ever meet; he was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a hard worker. Fred could make anything, and he could fix anything. He was a great mechanic and could work on all kinds of equipment; he made people crafts out of metal and recently he started making furniture out of willow trees. He was a great farmer and he would grow a large garden every year and give most of it away to friends and neighbors. Fred left behind a great legacy. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Dorothy M Davis of Ida; his children, Tommy Davis and wife Margaret of Conway, Arkansas, Trish Bone and husband Dennis of Humble, Texas, Stanley Davis and wife Teddy of Beebe, Arkansas, David Davis of Conway, Arkansas and Eric Davis and wife Cammy of Vivian, Louisiana his 6 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, and 4 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Davis of Memphis, Tennessee, his sisters, Betty McCord of Memphis, Tennessee, Mary Reagan of Turrell, Arkansas and Ellen Scott of Atlanta, Georgia.
