A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 30, 2020 in St. Genevieve Catholic Church for John Gilford Leger, 86, who passed away on November 25, 2020.

Fr. Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Mr. John, a life-long resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Hubert Leger Sr and the former Clotile Chaisson.

He is survived by his wife, Lucy T. Leger; sons, Damian J. Leger (Debbie), Matthew G. Leger (Mary) and Douglas P. Leger (Darla); grandchildren, Kelli L. Lalonde (Joey), Shaun M. Leger (Cherlyn), Dayne Leger (Bethany), Darien Leger (Alexandria), Dene Leger, Dillon Leger and Dayla Leger; and 4 great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Cassie, Remi, Ryli, Airrabella, and Viola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Clotile Leger; sisters, Isabelle L. Hays, Tally L. Hays, Bertha L. Boudreaux, Mazel L. Tanner and Hazel L. Lagneaux; and brothers, Hubert Leger Jr and Ewell Leger.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Damian Leger, Matthew Leger, Douglas Leger, Shaun Leger, Dayne Leger and Darien Leger.
