Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Time Pending in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Percy Paul Leger, age 78, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. Mr. Leger was a native and lifelong resident of Duson. He retired with 10 years of service from the Lafayette Parish School Board. Percy loved camping and fishing. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Duson. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Joycelyn Marie Bearb of Duson; five daughters, Sharon L. Smith and her husband, Patrick, Kathy L. LeBlanc and her husband, Dino, all of Carencro, Charlene L. Broussard and her husband, John Harold, of Broussard, Annette L. Duhon and her husband, Kevin, of Rayne, and Bertha Sue Chiasson of Carencro; one son, Ronald Dale Leger of Duson; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Leger and the former Bertha Thibodeaux; one brother, Chester Leger; and one sister, Rose Nell Richard. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Pallbearers will be Shannon Smith, Tucker Chiasson, Chad Leger, Joel Leger, Tyler Chiasson, Trey Chiasson and Chance Duhon.
