Thomas Dalhousie Bickham was born near Franklinton .Marriage Cenderilla Smith Bickham (1856 - 1950)*
“Thomas D Bickham, who married at age 17, was a father and Confederate private at the age 18, Sheriff of Washington Parish at 34 and ultimately the father of 17 children”
Thomas was elected sheriff of Washington Parish in 1878 and served 8 years as Sheriff. He was the owner of the New Era, a newspaper published in Franklinton.
Thomas was in the confederate military
and also the U S Calvary as a young man.
