BICKHAM JR., BENTON O.
Died 12:02 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 1993, at his residence in Independence. He was 84 and a native of Hackley. Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 7 to 9 pm Sunday, and 8 am until religious services at 10 am Monday, conducted by the Rev G Larry Maxwell and the Rev Charles Brister. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 pm Sunday. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton. Survived by wife, Mrs Collean Finch Bickham, Independence; two sons, Jonathan Bickham, Independence, Missouri, and Benton O Bickham III, Hammond; three sisters, Mrs Lillian Conerly, Tylertown, Mississippi, Mrs Harriet Hotard, Metairie, and Mrs Alice Ann Quinn, Jackson, Miss.; two brothers, Enoch Bickham, Tylertown, Miss., and Thomas Carroll Bickham, Baton Rouge; three stepsons, Jack Ballard, Amite, Thomas Ballard, Slidell, and Dennis Ballard, Albany; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by first wife, Mary L. Kemp Bickham; a son, Michael Bickham; parents, Mr. and Mrs.B.O. Bickham Sr.; four brothers, William, Woodrow, Bobby and Monroe Bickham; and a sister, Mrs. Elaine Rimes. He was a retired Louisiana Highway Department engineer, a member of First United Methodist Church, Independence, Independence Masonic Lodge No.458, St. Paul's Commandery No. 27 of the Jerusalem Temple of New Orleans, Joseph W. Robinson Council No. 36, C.M. of Louisiana and Camelia Chapter No. 142 O.E.S. of Amite.
