Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, January 7 2013,at Stateline Baptist Church at Stateline, Louisiana, for Ms Wilda Berry Tynes, 93, of Sandy Hook, who died Tuesday, January 1 in Columbia. Interment will be in the Tynes cemetery. The Rev Donnie Broom, the Rev Jerry Kennedy and the Rev Brent King will officiate at the services.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until 2 pm on
Monday, January 7 at Stateline Baptist Church.
She was born February 4,1919 in Marion county and worked for Wesley Ray Elementary in the reading program.. She was a teacher's aid for over 22 years in the second grade and third grade for the Washington Parish School System. Her ministry in life was to be a Christian role model for children and young people.She was a devoted wife to her husband, the Rev Locthe Tyneswho preceded her in death .She was also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Berry and Rebecca Slade Berry, sisters Mary Jane Berry Herring,Belle Berry Herring,Allie Berry Kennedy, Maricie Berry Kennedy, Delhia Berry McKenzie, brothers, Henry Berry, Thomas Berry Jr and Elwood Berry. She was a loving second mother and aunt to many.The family would like to thank her special longtime caregivers, Mary Bullock and Yvonne Fortenberry and the Hospice caregivers, Linda, Vanessa and Dianna.
