Toxie "T.A." Argel Tynes, age 81, passed away on April 19 at his residence in Bogalusa. Born April 4, 1928 in Sandy Hook, Miss., he married his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Sadie Hines Tynes, in Bogalusa. He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 1946 until Dec. 1948 and he worked for the paper mill for 38 years until he retired. His family were members of Union Avenue Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Hines Tynes of Bogalusa; three daughters: Cathy T. (Ernest) Miller, Beverly L. Tynes and Sandra G. Tynes, all of Bogalusa; a son, Rev. Bruce (Lori) Tynes of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren: Angela (Louis) Crochet, Christina (Mitchell) Rester, Ernest Miller (Sarah) Miller Jr., Joanie L. (Tommy) Knight, Jonathan Joseph Tynes and Brian A. Tynes; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Marshall and Annie Estella Warner Tynes; two brothers, James Marshall and Clarence W. Tynes; four sisters, Dorothy H. T. Rushing, Ruby L.T. King, Verma Mae T. Courteny and Eva V. T. Rawls.

Visitation will be at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Kevin Arinder and Bro. Eric Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
