Frances
September 23, 1943 - June 25, 2014
Hank was born on March 21st, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a graduate of C.E. Byrd High School in 1960 where he was a three-year letterman on the Byrd track team running the 4/100 relay and the 220. Hank graduated in Petroleum Engineering from LSU in 1965 where he was a member of the KA Fraternity.
Hank was a lifelong LSU Tiger fan and cherished his time with his friends Gene Hilliard, Steve Simon, Cass Gaiennie and Kim Kayser in the Tiger Den Suites at Tiger stadium. Hank was a long-time member and generous philanthropic supporter of TAF. He was a member of the Board of Directors from 2005-2016, member of the Executive Committee from 2007-2016 and Chairman of the Board from 2013-2014. It was during Hank’s service as Chairman of the Board that TAF completed and opened the South Endzone Addition to Tiger Stadium and TAF began work on both the Gymnastics Practice Facility and the LSU Tennis Complex.
Hank was an active member of the round table lunch group at the Petroleum Club and his Tuesday morning breakfast group at Strawns Too. He enjoyed his time at his camp on Lake Bistineau, his time spent at his condo in Snowmass, Co. and his time at his townhouse in New Orleans. Hank was a lifelong member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
Hank leaves behind a legacy of generosity that is unmatched. One close friend described him this way: “Hank's generosity is legendary and he never expected anything in return. He could be hard as nails and soft as a creampuff”. Another quote from a close friend described him as the “least complicated, highly intelligent person he had ever known”. Hank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will leave a giant void that will be difficult to fill.
We would also like to thank Rhonda Anderson for her love for Hank. He loved Rhonda with all his heart and did not want to spend a minute away from her for the last eight years. Thank you, Rhonda, for loving our father and giving him eight great years.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Garnett Murphy “Jake” Anderson and his wife of 43 years Frances Marie Anderson. He is survived by his wife of almost eight years, Rhonda Anderson; daughters, Andrea Marie Vardell and husband Thomas Arthur Vardell; three sons, Jake Feazel Anderson and wife Lanya Pankey Anderson, Gregory Brent Cummings and wife Dawn Michelle Cummings, and Taylor Cole Anderson and wife Sarah Harper Anderson; step daughter, Elizabeth Cooper Beauvais; step son, Ernest Addison Beauvais; grandchildren, Madison Kristi Cummings, Taylor Skye Cummings, Gavin Gregory Cummings, Daisy Grace Vardell, Thomas Colton Vardell, Ann Estelle Anderson, Emily Frances Anderson , Henry Feazel Anderson II, Charlotte Strong Abney , Henry Beauvais Abney, August Cooper Abney, and Iliam Earnest Beauvais; brother, William Garnett Anderson; and 12 nieces and nephews.
