Funeral services for Mello Jean Motlow Thomas, age 79, will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers with Reverend Richard Humphries, Pastor of Ashbury United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was the wife of the late William Lowell Thomas and daughter of the late John T. Motlow and Jeanette Lester. She was employed by Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency in New Orleans, a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended UL.
She is survived by two sons, William Thomas and Tommy Thomas; two grandsons, Larkin and Collin; two brothers, Don Motlow and Ted Motlow; sister, Clara Motlow Schriefer; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters; Sally Fitzpatrick and Camille Broussard; and one brother, John Motlow.
family will receive friends at Delhomme Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 9:00 am until time of service.
Mello was an avid jewelry connoisseur, enjoyed arts and crafts and playing cards with her cousins and sisters. She enjoyed playing golf at an early age. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.
