Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Mary Eve Castille Alexander, 75, who passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Joseph Campion will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Kunkeisha Nicole Alexander. Gift Bearers will be Amari M. Fontenette and Shayla Martinez. Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
Mary Eve enjoyed helping others who were in need of transportation. She would often devote her prayers for special intentions and was known for her acts of kindness and charity.
Survivors include two sons, Milton Alexander (Bessie) of Lafayette and Harris Alexander of Breaux Bridge; seven daughters, Consuella Smith (Donald), Gloria Amos (Vaughn), Veronica Flugence (John), Carmelita Zenon (Hilton), Mona Fontenette (Francis), all of Breaux Bridge, Jo Ann Constantine (Aaron), and Tawana Martinez (Roderick), all of Lafayette; adopted son, Darren Alexander of Breaux Bridge; adopted daughter, Janaill Gallegos of Jennings; four sisters, Rose Marie Tillman, Mary Ann Barber, Mary Nole Alexander, and Mildred Sterling; 51 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jessie Alexander; her mother, Marie Rose Castille; her adopted parents, Felton and Leta Alexander; her daughter, Judy Ann Alexander; her son, Sherman Alexander; and three brothers, Melvin, Alton, and Felton Alexander.
Pallbearers will be Kendrick and John Alexander, Ray Anthony Sonnier, Jr., Jamal Andrus, Raymond Gary, III, and Aaron Constantine, Jr.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
