Funeral service will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 10:30 AM at St Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, LA, for Mary “Tot” Alexander who died August 22, 2013. Interment will be held in St Francis of Assissi Catholic Church Cemetery Fr. Joseph Campion will officiate the services.
Ms. Alexander also known as Tot was born in Breaux Bridge La on July 25, 1945 to the late Leonard and Evelyn Alexander. She was a good mother to her kids and although life was rough at times being a single parent she overcame the obstacles. She enjoyed stepping out and being among family and friends, going to bingo, trail rides, dancing, smiling, and simply enjoying life. She was a beloved mother and friend. She is survived by three sons John Alexander (Dianne) and Darrell Alexander both of Lafayette, LA and Glaston Alexander of Opelousas, LA; five daughters Debra Alexander, Emelda Alexander, Beverly Alexander, Leona Alexander all of Lafayette, LA; and Mary B Alexander of Breaux Bridge, LA; four brothers Harold Alexander, Joseph Alexander (Mae), Lawrence Alexander (Charlotte) all of Lafayette, LA and William Alexander (Theresa) St. Martinville, LA; one sister Florence A. Sylvester of Scott, LA; 30 Grandchildren, 31 Great-grandchildren and three Great-great grandchildren; and a host of family friends and relatives.
Ms. Alexander is preceded in death by parents Leonard and Evelyn Edmond Alexander; granddaughter Centrell Alexander and grandson Quincy Chevalier.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 7am until 10am.
