June 6, 1922 - September 2, 2018
Doris Miller McNeese, age 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018, while residing in Flannery Oaks Guest House, a caring and loving nursing home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born June 6, 1922, to William and Tena Miller in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Doris was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. McNeese and the mother of the late Robert H. McNeese (Priscilla) of Baton Rouge, LA; G. Wayne McNeese, Sr. (Bonnie) of New Iberia, LA; Stanley L. McNeese (Mary) of Hoover, AL; and a special nephew, Harry E. Armand (Sue) of Metairie, LA.
She loved her family and loved being “Boosha” to her seven grandchildren: Melinda McNeese Braud (Larry); the late Robert H. (Bobby) McNeese, Jr.; G. Wayne McNeese, Jr. (Laurie); Holly L. McNeese; the late Kevin D. McNeese; Tiffany McNeese Jenkins (Mike); and Stephanie McNeese McNeil (Shawn). She was a great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Doris also had seven brothers and sisters, two special family members, Beverly Wood Pacas and Judy Boyet Wamsley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sweetest, kindest lady who always had a smile on her face and loved her family, gardening, and celebrating every holiday. She was a cancer survivor and supported those fighting the disease. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services will be on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA. Pastor Greg Whaley of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa will officiate.
