January 18, 1937 - October 22, 2005
Bobbie Nell Owens Bennett, age 68, died Saturday, Oct. 22 at her residence in Bogalusa. A native of McComb, she was a long-time resident of Bogalusa.
She is survived by her husband, Otis A. Bennett of Bogalusa; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul E. and Cindy Leonard of Gulfport and Shannon D. and Gayle Leonard of Opopka, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolynn and Chester Thompson of Picayune; a step-daughter, Mitzi Bennett of Covington; eight grandchildren, Marshall, Nathan and Rebecca Thompson, Christopher and Kailee Leonard, Barrett Mulford and Amanda Lee Leonard; one brother and sister-in-law, Jesse B. and Marie Owens of Fredericksburg, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Bertiel Owens.
Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 9 p.m. and continued at 8 a.m. Tuesday until time for the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Fred Brumfield officiated, with interment following in Ponemah Cemetery.
