December 2, 1924 - May 6, 2004
Thelma Bennett, 79, a resident of Franklinton, died yesterday in her home. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Franklinton.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin and Melvin Bennett, both of Franklinton; three daughters, Yvonne Rogers of Angie, Vera F. Easterling of Franklinton. And Lenell Merritt of Angie; a brother, George Jones of South Carolina; three sisters, Sybil Carter of Denham Springs, Velma White of Bogalusa, and Dezzie Sphere of Bogalusa; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Bennett; a son, Ralph Bennett; a daughter, Lucille Warren; her parents, Eugene Miller and Miami Jones; a stepfather, George Jones; brothers, Ocie Miller and E.J. Miller; and a grandson, Floyd Bennett.
Visitation will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home today from 4-9 p.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. until the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. Elder J.W. Graves will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery.
