FRANKLINTON n Audrey Faye Creel Carpenter, 61, a resident of Mt. Hermon, died at 1 p.m. Saturday at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. She was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and a dispatcher for Standard Gravel for many years.
Survivors include her loving husband of 43 years, Hamp Shelton Carpenter of Mt. Hermon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Richard Cosse, and Maria and Thyron Caughlin, all of Franklinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Renee Carpenter of Franklinton; seven grandchildren and one grandson-in-law, Heather and Michael Bordelon, Holly Carpenter, Shena Carpenter, Jessica Carpenter, Brittany Caughlin, Sara Carpenter, Brady Caughlin, and future grandson-in-law, Matthew Lane; three great-grandchildren, Shelton, Shelby, and Shellie Bordelon; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carl and Shirley Pomelow of Picayune, and Robert and Pauline Carpenter of Bogalusa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death by her parents, Gene G. "Bud" and Lena Jenkins Creel; two brothers, Thomas Creel and Willie D. "Butch" Creel; two sisters, Ruth Cabos and Doris Creel; a nephew, Marcel Harris; and her in-laws, Johnny and Alma Miley Carpenter.
Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home from 6-10 p.m. today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the chapel funeral service at 11 a.m. Elds. J.W. Graves, Gary Sumrall and Edward Penton will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the McNeese Cemetery.
