The funeral service for Myrtis Andrews Carter, age 79, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Our Heavenly Father Church in Bogalusa with Bishop Robert Charles Barnes officiating. Bishop Landy Carter, Jr. is the pastor of the church.
Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled today at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Wake service will be held tonight from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the Rev. Cecealins Tate officiating.
She died Sunday at Bogalusa Community Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Bishop Landy Carter, Jr. of Bogalusa; a nephew she reared, Erskine Andrews of Bogalusa; five sisters, Bernice Burton of Milwaukee, WI, Rose, Grace, Georgia Mae, and Emma Andrews, all of New York; four brothers, Walter Andrews of Angie, and D.C., Harrison, and Buster Andrews, all of New York; her mother-in-law, Beulah B. Carter of Bogalusa; one Godchild, Christie Davis of Rochester, MN; a nephew she helped raise, Andre' Martin; a play daughter, Jannie West of Carriere, MS; a brother-in-law, the Rev. Cecealins (Violet) Tate of Folsom; six sisters-in-law, Beulah Martin, Eulah (Andre') Johnson, Bessie Carter, Emelda (Tommy) Clark, Celeste (Jerome) Young and Ellen Carter, all of Boglausa; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. (Gertrude) Andrews; her step- mother, Mrs. Mattie Mae Andrews; her sister, Louise Andrews; and two brothers, Bill and Jonathan Andrews.
