Billie H. Carter, 78, of Morton died at 5:32 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
She was born March 20, 1933, in Tylertown, Miss. She married Thomas C. Carter on Jan. 27, 1956, in Louisiana. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1992.
Billie received her bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University in home economics and worked as a social worker in New Orleans. Billie and her family own Carter Paper and Packaging Co. in Peoria.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family.
No local services will be held. A graveside service with burial will be held in Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton, La., at a later date.
