Funeral services for Mr Lesslie P Smith, 86, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe with Rev Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Lesslie was born February 4, 1925 in Goldonna, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011 in West Monroe. He served in the US Army during WWII. Mr Smith was a retired Louisiana Department of Highways #3 Foreman. Lesslie was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church and a retired Deacon. He was the last surviving child of eight children of the union of John and Ada Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Vernie; children, Gayle Green and husband Gary, and Elaine Brown and husband Mitch; grandchildren, Brian Kirby and wife Michelle, Holly Moreno and husband Rudy, Toni Dahl and husband Ty, and Kami Hodge and husband Tommy; and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be the fellow church members of Fair Park Baptist Church.
