Funeral services for Everett Lee Smith, 81, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 19, 2012 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA, with Dr. Alan Miller and Rev. Craig West officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Smith was born on February 22, 1931 in Enterprise, LA, and passed away on December 16, 2012 in Monroe, LA. Mr. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. He retired from Bell South as a cable repairman. Mr. Smith received a scholarship to play football and run track at Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi, served in United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, and then attended Northeast Louisiana University.

Survivors include his wife Elwyna Wills Smith; daughter, LaQuita Danna and husband Tony; son, Everett Lee Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, El Ann Danna and Ashton Danna; great grandchildren, Blaine Howard and London Danna; brother, Walt Smith and wife Judy; nephews, Scott Smith and Randy Smith.

Pallbearers will be Ray Gambino, Kermit Bearden, Don Wills, Jr., Mark Manhart, Ray Campbell and Doyce McGuffee. Honorary pallbearers will be Truth Seekers Sunday School Class and Derek Daniels.
