Charles Bussey Nolan, 83, of 401 E. Fifth St., died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital. Nolan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Nolan, was born Dec. 11, 1885, and was a 47 year resident of El Dorado. He was a retired insurance salesman and a member of the Second Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his widow, Malsie Tubbs Nolan; a son, Brodie Nolan, Houston, Tex., a daughter, Mrs. Thad Cooper, El Dorado, and a brother, J. P. Nolan, El Dorado. Services were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church. Burial followed in Laran Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Bray, the Rev. Roy Hilton, and the Rev. Richard Johnson officiated. Active pallbearers were Ross Martin, Joseph Harris, John Gray, Prados Pitard, Parnell Bolding, and Jimmy Miller. Honorary pallbearers were the Friendship Bible Class of Second Baptist Church. The family will be at their home at 401 E. Fifth St. until time of the service. (El Dorado Times - February 7, 1969)
