Lavelle Albritton, 63, died at his residence in Farmerville, La., at 1:30 a.m. Sunday following a lengthy illness. Mr. Albritton was a native and lifelong resident of Union Parish. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Bell Albritton of Farmerville; five sons, M. L. (Boots) Albritton and Gary Lynn Albritton, both of Farmerville, Morris T. Albritton of Sterlington, La., W. L. Albritton of West Monroe, La., and George A. Albritton of Fayetteville; four daughters, Mrs. DeVonne Vestal of Huttig, Mrs. Mariete Nale and Mrs. Mae Cummings, both of Sterlington, and Mrs. LaVerne White of Modesto, Calif.; two brothers, Larking Albritton of Bernice, La., and Wilmer Albritton of Farmerville; two sisters, Mrs. Betty A. Upshaw and Mrs. Emma Lou Upshaw both of Farmerville; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Farmerville with Rev. Luther B. Hall officiating, assisted by Rev. Jess Fontenot. Burial followed in Enterprise Cemetery under the direction of Kirkpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. (The El Dorado Times - May 25, 1964)
