Gracie Mae Walker was born February 22, 1949, in Franklin Parish, Louisiana, to the late Gracie Moffett and FunJ Higgins. She was raised by Lonnie and Callie White.
Gracie transitioned on May 1, 2023, to her forever home.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Greater Flowery Mount Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. She maintained her relationship with God throughout her life. She also served as a senior usher and deaconess at Greater Flowery Mount Baptist Church. She depended on her faith in God and belief in hard work.
In addition to her parents, Gracie was preceded in death by her husband, Anniero Walker, Jr.; son, David Lee Walker, Sr. (Teresa); two daughters, Vanessa Walker and Sharon Walker; sisters, Ethel Williams, Rose Higgins, and Linda Higgins; and brother, Jake Berry.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Reverend Vernon Higgins, Sr. (Iresia), Andrew Walker, and Marcus Walker; daughter, Ruby Butler; sisters, Annie Higgins, Bertha Higgins, and Geneva Higgins; brothers, Lee Higgins, Johnell Higgins, Robert Higgins, and Maxwell Higgins; great-aunt, Liddie Lewis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
